Dachshund Network operates two sides of the same mission: a foster-based rescue for dachshunds who are surrendered, abandoned, or need a second chance, and a small, ethically managed breeding program for families who want to welcome a puppy from day one. Every dog in our rescue care lives in a real foster home — no cages, no kennels — and every puppy we breed is raised the same way: underfoot, well-socialized, and never separated from mom too early.
We screen every applicant carefully, cover initial veterinary needs, and stay available for the life of the dog. Adoption (or purchase) with us isn't a transaction — it's a long-term relationship between three parties: you, us, and the dog.

Berry was the last little puppy waiting from her litter, and she was worth every extra day. Otto was the smallest of his litter and the last to open his eyes — but he's made up for it ever since. He's curious about everything, sleeps belly-up, and has never met a sock he didn't think was a toy. Otto is looking for a family with patience for puppy zoomies and a soft spot for an underdog who's already won every hardship he's faced.
Hazel came to us after her previous owners moved somewhere that didn't allow pets. She was heartbroken for the first few weeks of her foster placement, but has since become the most affectionate dog in the building — she greets every visitor like they're the most important person in the world. Hazel does best with calm households and would love a lap to call her own.
Biscuit was found wandering near a highway rest stop with no microchip and no collar. Despite a rough start, he trusted people again almost immediately — tail wagging, ears back, the whole performance. He's playful, food-motivated (aren't they all), and currently working through an adoption application with a family who fell for him at first sight.

She was shy at first, unsure what affection without an agenda even was — now she follows her foster family from room to room just to be near them. Theo is the class clown of his foster home — he's been caught mid-zoomie running directly into furniture more than once, completely undeterred. He gets along with cats, other dogs, and pretty much anyone who'll throw a ball for him. Theo's looking for an active family who won't mind a dachshund who thinks he's much bigger than he actually is.
Pepper was surrendered when her family had a baby and felt overwhelmed managing both. She's gentle, low-key, and genuinely enjoys quiet evenings more than chaos — basically the opposite of a problem dog. Pepper would be a wonderful first dachshund for a first-time owner looking for a calm, devoted companion.
How It Works

Submit an application for the dog you've connected with. Tell us about your home, your experience, and your reasons for adopting.

A volunteer reviews your form within 24–48 hours and follows up with a short phone or video call to talk through the match.

Meet the dog in person where possible. We pay close attention to comfort and fit on both sides — there's no pressure to commit on the spot.
04
Finalize paperwork, settle the adoption fee, and bring them home. We stay reachable for the dog's whole life — not just the first week.
